What is worth writing about

  • A factual error. Anything on this site that is wrong gets corrected and noted in the changelog. Corrections are the most useful message you can send.
  • A tool that misbehaves on your device. Include the browser, its version, the operating system, and what you expected against what happened. A screenshot helps.
  • A capability that has changed. If a browser gains an ability listed as impossible on the limits page, that page needs updating and it would be good to hear about it.
  • A test that is missing. Particularly if you can describe what it would show that the existing tools do not.

What will not get a reply

  • Link exchange, guest post and sponsored content requests.
  • Offers to place advertising.
  • Requests to diagnose a specific display from a description. The tools are the diagnosis, and the manufacturer or retailer is the next step.

Before you write about a display problem

Run the guided monitor test first and note which checks failed. The individual tool pages cover the common causes for each fault, and a good proportion of them turn out to be settings rather than hardware, particularly near-black crushing and an unexpectedly low refresh rate.
